Appendix XI Typical Steam Pressure reducing Station

Notes:

1. Refer to Steam Pressure Regulators, Division 15-5, for pressure reducing valve requirements and sizing.

2. Install pressure reducing valves with unions or flanges as shown to permit easy removal.

3. Do not show a bypass.

4. Use long radius ells and laterals with 45° ells to reduce turbulence and noise.

5. All threaded piping nipples to be Schedule 80 black iron. High side steam line components to be 300 psi steam rated and on low side to be 150 psi steam rated minimum.

6. See typical steam line drip trap piping, Appendix XII. Discharge high pressure condensate into a flash tank.
