| 2-1 | Building And Site Demolition |
| 1. | Clearly identify on drawings items to be turned over to the Owner. Specify a procedure for delivery to Owner. Identify these items which: |
| a. | go to Excess & Salvage |
| b. | go to Physical Plant |
| c. | go to Department |
| d. | other |
| 2. | Clearly identify on drawings items to be |
| a. | relocated and where items are to be relocated |
| b. | saved and protected |
| c. | removed and disposed |
| d. | salvaged, maintained and relocated (e.g. specimen trees) |
| 3. | Clearly identify on drawings the extent and scope of demolition work. |
| 4. | Hazardous Materials (see Division 1 for specific requirements): |
| a. | Asbestos: University of California is responsible for abatement - see project manager for required specification language. |
| b. | PCBs: University of California is responsible for disposal - see project manager for required specification language. |
| c. | Sink Traps: Project manager will coordinate with Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) to make hazardous waste determination of sink traps from wet aboratories. |
| d. | Lead and Lead Paint: Project manager will coordinate with Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S). |
| e. | Soil Contamination: Project manager will coordinate with Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S). |
| f. | Radiation Testing: Project manager will coordinate with Office of Radiation Safety (ORS) |
| g. | Laboratories to be demolished: Other specific testing and disposal protocols have been established. Coordinate with project manager. |
| h. | Project manager will coordinate removal of radioactive exit signage with Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S). |
| i. | Fluorescent Light Tubes: Project manager will coordiante with Physical Plant-Campus Services. |
| j. | Other: University of California is responsible for hazardous waste disposal. Project Manager will coordinate with EH&S. |
| 5. | Storm water discharge permit is required (for sites larger than five acres). See Division 1. Project Manager to coordinate with Physical and Environmental Planners for required specification language. |
| 6. | Utility Disconnection and re-establishment of services: Coordinate with Physical Plant, EBMUD and PG&E via University of California project manager. |
| 7. | Protect building exterior and landscape areas and repair any damage caused by the project to new condition. Path of travel for ingress to and egress from campus should include requirements for site protection, clean up and repairs. |
| 8. | Contractor shall be responsible for disposal of all construction debris. |
