| 2-19 | Irrigation Repair And Renovation Specifications |
The following language may be used as a guide specification:
| Part 1 | General |
| A. | Section Includes |
| 1. | Trenching and backfilling. |

Manuals, catalogs, and printed instructions of various equipment and material manufacturers specified
| C. | System Description |
| 1. | Confirm the location of all existing irrigation lines in the construction area before beginning work. |
| 2. | Although such work may not be specifically indicated, furnish and install all supplementary or miscellaneous items, appurtenances and devices incidental to or necessary for a sound, secure and complete installation. |
| D. | Submittals |
| 1. | Product data: Prior to installation of any work, prepare list of each material proposed for use and submit to Owner's Representative for review. |
| 2. | Record Drawings: Submit record reproducible drawings (Mylar) showing dimensioned locations and depths for each of the following: |
| a. | Point of connection: Sprinkler pressure line routing. Provide dimensions for each 100 lineal feet, maximum along each routing, and for each change in direction. Gate valves; sprinkler control valves (buried only); quick coupling valves; control wire routing; other related items as may be directed. |
| b. | Locate all dimensions from two permanent reference points such as buildings, monuments, sidewalks, curbs, or pavements. |
| c. | Record all changes which are made from the drawings, including changes in pressure and non-pressure lines. |
| d. | Final review will not commence without prior receipt of record drawings. |
| 3. | Controller Charts: |
| a. | Do not prepare charts until record drawing have been reviewed by Owner's Representative. |
| b. | Provide one controller chart for each automatic controller installed. Chart shall be a reproduction of the Record Drawing, fitting the controller door. Photo reduction prints are required, keeping reduction to maximum size possible to retain full legibility. Chart shall show the area covered by that controller. |
| c. | Identify the area of coverage of each remote control valve. |
| d. | Following acceptance of charts hermetically seal between two layers of 30 mil. thick plastic sheet. |
| 4. | Operating And Maintenance Manuals: Provide descriptions of all installed materials and systems in sufficient detail permit maintenance personnel to understand, operate and maintain the equipment. |
| E. | Quality Assurance |
| 1. | Underwriters Laboratories: Electrical wiring, controls, motors and devices U. L. listed, and so labeled. |
| 2. | Installer Qualifications for solvent joints: Employ personnel trained by the manufacturer's representative in techniques for making correct joints prior to performing work on the site. |
| F. | Delivery, Storage And Handling |
| 1. | Storage: Store material in an orderly manner. Avoid interference with other construction activities. |
| 2. | Protection: Protect all materials to prevent intrusion of dirt and moisture Protect the installed work and materials of other trades. Cover and protect from sunlight. |
| G. | Site Conditions |
| 1. | Perform irrigation installation when weather and soil conditions are suitable as determined by Owner's Representative. |
| 2. | Coordinate with the work of others, particularly with respect to utilities and underground systems. |
| 3. | If underground construction, obstructions, or unforeseen utilities are encountered, notify Owner's Representative. |
| 4. | Examine drawings and site and be aware of connections required and existing improvements to remain and those to be protected. |
| H. | Warranty |
| In addition to manufacturer's guarantees or warranties, warrant all work for one year from the date of final acceptance against defects. Cover repair of damage to any portion of the site or adjacent areas resulting from leaks or defects in materials and workmanship. Submit warranty in writing to Owner's Representative. |
