The contractor shall coordinate campus or building utility shutdowns through the
Inspector eleven calendar days in advance. Requests for shutdowns shall identify the time, date,
and work involved. When the requested time cannot be approved, the contractor shall coordinate with
the inspector for an alternate time and date. |

The contractor will schedule major shutdowns for after normal working hours or on
weekends, unless approved otherwise by project manager or inspector. A major shutdown includes but
is not limited to shutdown of electrical power, water or sanitary sewer that will affect a significant
part of a building or a critical classroom or laboratory. |

The University shall arrange for the shutdown and do all the actual handling of
valves and switches. The contractor shall be responsible for all other work, such as splicing,
tie-ins and connections shown on the drawings. |

The contractor shall have adequate men, materials and equipment available at the
approved scheduled time to complete the work promptly with least interference to University
operations. |
