Fire and Life Safety - 10 - Fire Hose Racks and Cabinets
Each hose outlet provided shall be equipped with 100' of approved rubber lined,
1-1/2" fire hose, or equivalent with adjustable fog nozzle, attached, ready for use.
Specify flush mounting cabinets for fire hose racks, with wire plate glass doors and
space for a 2A:10BC type fire extinguisher. Door shall have chrome plated piano-type
hinges and chrome plated handle, which shall not be painted.
Specify racks complete with wall flange, hose, adjustable fog nozzle, hose coupling,
1-1/2" valve, and spanner. Finish shall be chrome plate. Both ends of racks shall
lie in the same horizontal plane with a maximum tolerance of plus or minus 1/8".
Specify 1-1/2" rubber lined hose, or equivalent 100 feet long fitted with adjustable
fog type nozzle.
Specify National Standard thread for valve and hose, as adopted by NFPA and required
by CCR, Title 19.
Minimum of one 2A:10BC type fire extinguisher shall be provided with each hose
cabinet. Extinguisher will be designated N.I.C. as it will be provided by the
Physical Plant (PP), after a request is submitted by the project manager.
